Comprehensive Screening
Your Health.
Your Baseline.
Your Future.
A Nutritional & Functional Medicine approach to early detection, personalised care and long-term wellbeing.
THE PREVENTION IMPERATIVE
Why preventive healthcare cannot wait.
80%
of chronic diseases are preventable through lifestyle and early intervention
70%
of Malaysians do not undergo regular health screenings
3×
more costly to treat a chronic disease than to prevent it
01
PREVENTION FIRST
See change before it becomes the whole story.
THE HEALTH CONTINUUM
Health rarely changes in a single moment.
A baseline gives you a point of reference. Over time, biomarkers, symptoms and risk factors can change — sometimes gradually, sometimes noticeably. Preventive screening creates an opportunity to identify what may be worth discussing earlier.
01
Optimal health
Balanced biomarkers and no significant symptoms — a useful state to understand and maintain.
02
Subclinical imbalance
Some markers or risk factors may begin to shift before there is a clear diagnosis.
03
Functional decline
Changes such as fatigue, brain fog, weight changes or poor recovery may begin to affect day-to-day wellbeing.
04
Disease diagnosis
Where symptoms or findings indicate a health condition, appropriate medical assessment and treatment become essential.
WHAT NUTRITIONAL & FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE ADDS
A wider conversation around the individual.
Finds the ‘why’
Explores contributing factors such as diet, gut health, hormones, stress, environment and genetics.
Personalised to you
Uses biomarkers together with lifestyle, symptoms, history and goals to shape individual recommendations.
Evidence-informed
Draws on appropriate clinical evidence, nutritional science and related research to inform recommendations.
Prevention first
Places greater emphasis on modifiable risk factors, sustainable habits and proactive preventive care.
Whole-person care
Considers physical, emotional and environmental factors together rather than as completely separate experiences.
Sustainable outcomes
Aims to build understanding and realistic lifestyle changes that can be sustained over time.
02
COMPLEMENTARY CARE
Different strengths can belong in the same health journey.
CONVENTIONAL HEALTHCARE + NUTRITIONAL & FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
Different roles. Shared purpose.
Conventional healthcare and Nutritional & Functional Medicine contribute different perspectives to a person’s health journey. At RENN, Nutritional & Functional Medicine is designed to work alongside appropriate medical care, adding preventive, nutritional and lifestyle context where it may be useful.
CONVENTIONAL HEALTHCARE
Diagnosis, treatment and medical management.
Medical care is essential for diagnosing disease, treating acute and chronic conditions, monitoring established health problems and providing medication, procedures or surgery when clinically indicated.
NUTRITIONAL & FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
Context, prevention and personalised support.
Nutritional & Functional Medicine explores nutrition, lifestyle, stress, sleep, environment and relevant biomarkers, with more in-depth discussion used to understand contributing factors and develop personalised preventive strategies.
03
MORE CONTEXT
A result is one piece of a much larger picture.
BEYOND ‘NORMAL’
Reference ranges matter.
So does everything around them.
A laboratory result is interpreted using reference ranges, but the conversation does not stop there. Age, sex, medications, symptoms, family history, previous results and trends over time can all influence what a result means for one person.
THE PURPOSE OF ADDITIONAL TESTING
Broaden the question when there is a reason to.
Core blood tests provide important information about general health. Where appropriate, additional testing can provide further context around areas such as glucose regulation, inflammation, thyroid function, nutritional status, hormones, immune markers and selected cardiovascular risk markers.
Additional markers should be chosen and interpreted in context. More testing is not automatically more useful testing.
CORE TESTING + ADDITIONAL HEALTH CONTEXT
A broader panel when the health question calls for it.
BLOOD SUGAR & INSULIN
Glucose
HbA1c and fasting insulin may add longer-term and insulin-response context.
THYROID
TSH
FT3, FT4 and thyroid antibodies may be considered where clinically appropriate.
HORMONES
Selected according to context
Sex hormones, cortisol, DHEA and related markers may be considered based on symptoms, sex, age and goals.
DIGESTIVE / IMMUNE
Selected according to context
H. pylori, immunoglobulins or inflammatory tests may be included where relevant.
CARDIOVASCULAR RISK
Lipid profile
hs-CRP, homocysteine and other selected markers may provide additional cardiovascular or inflammatory context.
SELECTED TUMOUR MARKERS
Selected according to context
Certain tumour markers may be included where clinically appropriate. They are not diagnostic on their own and do not replace recommended cancer screening.
